Thank you for checking our page! We finished harvesting on Monday and most of our 2016-17 crop is in the drying shed curing!
We are updating the 2017-18 order pages with quantities every day and they should be showing correctly shortly. Now is the time to plan for your next season's garden so reserve your heirloom garlic as it comes available (for delivery when we judge it is fully cured).
Update 7 July: Our weather during spring 2017 was unusually warm with growth patterns more like a southern zone 7b. That lead to early maturity and we began harvest in mid-June. Most varieties did well, but we had some unusual results. Some did better than usual, while others were just average. Waiting till cured before evaluating. Our garlic is curing slowly during this warm, humid July and we check it often. The inventory software may show as "Sold Out" at the moment, but there is more coming. The amounts available will change and be updated as fast as we finish cleaning and trimming the cured bulbs. Over the next few days you will see items come available so please check back.
We use a 4-5 year crop rotation and are already preparing our next year's field with a cover crop, ready for the 2017-2018 planting this fall. What preparations are you making?
We will begin shipping mid-September and early orders should be complete by mid-October, in time for prime fall planting.
Our small farm grows heirloom garlic. We find those hard-to-find, rich, flavorful varieties your grandparents and great-grandparents loved, and we bring them to you. Our garlic is grown organically, using sustainable agricultural methods.
